— What inspired the creators of the trend zone?
— The surrounding world and nature! This is an integral part of our lives, we all strive for harmony within ourselves and around us, and flora is life in its purest, natural manifestation. All principles of life are based on the laws of nature. Light, both natural and artificial, affects quality of life and comfort. The goal of a lighting designer is to create and play out spaces with maximum ergonomics, based on knowledge of natural science and the use of modern technologies.
Smart Cube 5.0 is the interaction of nature and the internal state of a person through changing the light environment.
Using lighting design elements (luminaires and control systems, materials of various textures), as well as creative ideas, the exhibition ambassadors created not just a stand, but a space with its own atmosphere, idea and meaning. It is these components that underlie the approach to solving problems in the world of lighting design.
Smart Cube 5.0 is an immersive space with its own unique atmosphere, created using light, design and smart technology, leaving an emotional response among all exhibition visitors.

The Design Stories by Flos trend zone is the center of attraction for exhibition participants: designers and architects.
Flos has been setting global lighting trends since the 1960s. It is one of the most recognized companies in the industry, having received numerous international awards, including 11 Compasso d'Oro awards, the highest honor in design.
In the Design Stories by FLOS space, you will see how the brand embodies the artful fusion of technology and emotion in its products, creating light that inspires and transforms any space. Visitors will be able to discover the history and product range of FLOS, while experiencing first-hand the brand's personalized approach to creating unique lighting elements.

On the occasion of Milan Design Week 2023, Flos presented the My Circuit collection with the installation Six Acts – My Circuit. The collection presents six different household scenarios, expressing the creative and functional versatility of the models presented.

Unique chandelier created in 1958. The model combines the brightness of traditional chandeliers and 1950s modernist style with a touch of simplistic industrial aesthetics. The updated lamp is smaller and sleeker, while maintaining the same design and appeal, expanding the capabilities of the iconic model.
“In the design of the 2097 lamp, electrical cables are visible. These are my favorite details because the design came to me without thinking. It was an accident, a pure accident.”

The Bellhop lamp is like a modern candle, creating atmospheric lighting.
“The Bellhop story began when we designed a table lamp for the Design Museum in London. The table lamp provides the user with maximum ease of use due to the fact that it is portable.”

In its latest version, the luminaire integrates seamlessly into the architecture of the room, placing it on the wall and directing the light upward thanks to the new optical technology patented by Flos, which allows the light to be directed and diffused upward rather than onto the wall

All elements of the lamp are inspired by the game "bielboke", which originated in France in the 16th century. Creating an atmosphere of “play”, an emotional connection is achieved through a combination of balance of shapes, materials and colors. The designer always strives for simplicity (in production, assembly and aesthetics) and durability as key elements of good design.
“Simple in appearance but very personal, the Bilboquet table lamp allows you to direct light in a playful yet precise manner. Magnetic hinges provide full range of motion."

Universal cone lamp made of environmentally friendly polypropylene obtained from industrial waste. The hook handle also doubles as a cable winder for added functionality and a custom look.

The lamp represents the perfect combination of craftsmanship and technology, functionality and aesthetics. In the In Vitro collection, flashlights “disappear”, and the main character becomes a soft and warm light created using Edge Led technology.

A thin tubular colored mesh intertwines with each other, forming an elegant pattern that can complement and enhance any space in a new way. The diffused light emitted by the lamp comes from the same elements that make up the dome of the housing, and envelops the environment in a soft and comfortable light.

Taccia table lamp, designed in 1962 using the idea of an inverted ceiling light. Thanks to its unique shape and style, it immediately took its rightful place in the history of design. For 2023, the Taccia Matte White is a reimagined masterpiece of the modern era with the utmost respect to the original.
“We definitely weren't thinking about prestige when we designed the lamp, we just wanted to create a cooling surface that would dissipate heat.”

The model is the winner of the prestigious EDIDA Award 2018, which is the “Oscar” of the design world and takes place as part of the Salone del Mobile in Milan. The compositions offer a wide range of configurations: from the creation of small hanging elements to large sculptural installations.
